Wismar Reflection: St.Nikolai’s Church has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002.

Beside St. Marien and St.Georgen, one of the three monumental Gothic sacred buildings in Wismar’s old town, is hailed as a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture in Northern Europe. Constructed between 1381 and 1487 in the North German brick Gothic style, the „Church of Seafarers and Fishermen“ stood resilient against wartime destruction, unlike its counterparts among the Wismar town churches.

After making a slight adjustment in LR, I decided to flip this photo upside down, resulting in a new perspective. The church reflects on the fresh pit, an artificial waterway weaving through Wismar. The „Frische Grube“ flows into the harbor basin of the Wismar Bay, which leads to the Baltic Sea.
